Book Artist Blues is made from a single sheet of paper, folded and cut into an accordion. The monotone drawings and photographs enhance the text, which is about a misunderstood book artist whose work goes unappreciated as she tries to find an audience. Cut outs cleverly take advantage of the accordion structure to create a visual and verbal refrain, "You know you've got the book artist blues when..."
